Unique relief feature in Lagdo subdivision






This is just one of the many beautiful and breathtaking facets of Lagdo subdivision, a sprawling cosmopolitan locality situated about an hour and thirty minutes from Garoua. Spanning some 2250 squared kilometres, it is home to over 2250 inhabitants  of varied ethnic backgrounds, a real melting pot of cultures of the three northern regions of Cameroon,as well as neighbouring countries like Nigeria, Chad and the Central African Republic.
Agriculture, livestock breeding, but most especially fishing, constitute the main occupations of the locals.

 The most undoubtedly prominent attraction is the famous Lagdo hydroelectricity dam and the Lagdo lake.Covering 586 squared kilometres, the lake is home to an astonishing wide variety of fish, including Tilapia.

The  hydroelectricity dam itself supplies energy to some countries it the central and west African subregion. These and other features constitute a source of attraction for potential visitors.
