Different Kinds of Soya Products
The grains look so homey and attractive, readily available, a convenient addition to our menus, breakfast and lunch alike. Yes, soybeans, also known as soya beans, is much more than a household name, it has become a part of our very makeup.
Soya beans has long been touted for its nutritional benefits, labelled as the ultimate protein source, the best replacement for foods some people are allergic to, such as milk from animals, or the perfect vegetable, what with its rich store of vitamins and other nutrients.
Yet, according to studies carried out by the American Nutrition Association, the downside of consuming soybeans, though not publicized, is vital information that every food lover and nutritionist should reflect about before recommending this legume, or consuming it.
Although processing can reduce the anti nutrients and their side effects contained in Soybeans, these remain, and have been shown to pose a real health hazard. The raw beans has been shown to reduce the body's ability to induce blood clotting, or absorb much needed minerals from other sources.
Contrary to popular opinion, this food could actually inhibit normal growth, and increase risk of some kinds of cancers, because of its being rich in oestrogens.

Soybean milk is often suggested as a replacement for cow milk for those who show allergy, however, soybean milk does not really replace cow milk or those from other animals, as it is devoid of cholesterol, necessary for the optimal development of the brain and central nervous system of infants, who in turn could see their hormonal systems affected adversely.
Besides, soybean oil is hydrogenated, in other words, not recommended for consumption.
With this in mind,it would be wise to weigh the apparent benefits of consuming soya beans, against the cost and adverse effects, and make the wise decision, which rests with each one of us, on whether to procure it or not for use.
